Solar controller is an automatic control device used in solar power generation systems to control multi-channel solar battery arrays to charge batteries and batteries to supply power to solar inverter loads. How to wire it? Solar controller manufacturer Radiance will introduce it to you.
1. Battery connection
Before connecting the battery, make sure the battery voltage is higher than 6V to start the solar controller. If the system is 24V, make sure the battery voltage is not lower than 18V. The system voltage selection is only automatically recognized the first time the controller is started. When installing the fuse, pay attention that the maximum distance between the fuse and the positive terminal of the battery is 150mm, and connect the fuse after confirming that the wiring is correct.
2. Load connection
The load terminal of the solar controller can be connected to the DC electrical equipment whose rated working voltage is the same as the rated voltage of the battery, and the controller supplies power to the load with the voltage of the battery. Connect the positive and negative poles of the load to the load terminals of the solar controller. There may be voltage at the load end, so be careful when wiring to avoid short circuits. A safety device should be connected to the positive or negative wire of the load, and the safety device should not be connected during installation. After installation, confirm that the insurance is connected correctly. If the load is connected through a switchboard, each load circuit has a separate fuse, and all load currents cannot exceed the rated current of the controller.
3. Photovoltaic array connection
Solar controller can be applied to 12V and 24V off-grid solar modules, and grid-connected modules whose open circuit voltage does not exceed the specified maximum input voltage can also be used. The voltage of solar modules in the system should not be lower than the system voltage.
4. Inspection after installation
Double-check all connections to see that each terminal is correctly polarized and that the terminals are tight.
5. Power-on confirmation
When the battery supplies power to the solar controller and the controller starts up, the battery LED indicator on the solar controller will light up, pay attention to observe whether it is correct.
